Terms and conditions

This English version is provided for convenience. If it differs from the Spanish version, the Spanish version prevails.

These terms govern the use of Carmen San Areco (carmensanareco.com.ar), a web investigation game from the Matecalipsis universe, offered by Facundo Mastandrea from the Argentine Republic. By creating an account or playing, you accept these terms and the privacy policy.

The game

The cases, thefts, suspects and witnesses are fictional. The clues are based on real facts verified with cited sources; even so, there may be mistakes. If you find one, write to us at matecalipsis+csa@gmail.com and we'll look into it.

Your account

• You must provide truthful information and keep your password safe. The account is personal.
• You may not use programs to play automatically, exploit bugs to gain an advantage, tamper with the rankings, or use offensive names or names that impersonate someone else.
• We may suspend or close accounts that break these rules.
• You can ask to close your account at any time by writing to matecalipsis+csa@gmail.com.

Free plays

Each account gets 5 new free cases per day; they reset at midnight, Argentina time. Resuming a case you already started doesn't use a play. We may adjust this number by announcing it on the site.

Passes and subscription

Passes give unlimited cases while they're valid. Current prices, in Argentine pesos:

• 5-case pack: $ 250, one-time payment, 5 cases that never expire.
• Unlimited day: $ 500, one-time payment, lasts 1 day.
• Unlimited week: $ 3.000, one-time payment, lasts 7 days.
• Unlimited month: $ 8.000, one-time payment, lasts 30 days.
• Monthly subscription: $ 5.000 per month, charged automatically every month.

• Payments are processed through Mercado Pago. The price charged is the one shown at the time of payment.
• The pass is credited when Mercado Pago approves the payment. If you already have a valid pass, the new one starts when the previous one ends.
• Pack cases never expire: they're only used once you've played your 5 free cases for the day, and never while you have a valid unlimited pass.
• Pass purchases are final: they're non-refundable, except for the legal right of withdrawal (see below).
• The subscription renews automatically every month until you cancel it, from the Passes section or from your Mercado Pago account. Once cancelled, no new charges are made and you keep access until the end of the month already paid; the unused part isn't refunded.
• If a payment is refunded or disputed (chargeback), the corresponding pass is cancelled.

Right of withdrawal

This right is established by law and can't be excluded: under article 34 of Argentine Consumer Protection Law 24,240, you can cancel a purchase made online within 10 calendar days of making it. To do so, write to matecalipsis+csa@gmail.com with the subject “Arrepentimiento” (withdrawal), stating your account email and the payment. We'll confirm receipt; where applicable, the amount is refunded through the same payment method and the pass is cancelled.

Intellectual property

The game, its characters, illustrations, texts and the Matecalipsis universe belong to their owner. The sources cited in the clues and in the encyclopedia belong to their respective authors. Copying or redistributing the game's content without permission isn't allowed.

Availability and liability

We do our best to keep the game running at all times, but there may be interruptions due to maintenance, technical failures or provider issues. The game is offered for entertainment and educational purposes; the information in the clues isn't advice of any kind. We may change or discontinue features, announcing it on the site.

Changes to these terms

If we change these terms, we update the date above and announce significant changes on the site. Changes don't affect passes already paid for.

Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of the Argentine Republic. For any claim, you can write to us first at matecalipsis+csa@gmail.com; you can also turn to the consumer protection agencies in your jurisdiction.
